【Job Mission】 Be at the core of Chanel ESG House Ambitions by supporting the roll-out of Chanel’s ESG policies, actions and targets for Japan region. Work in close relation with key stakeholders of the Group to coordinate the implementation of key measures and actions and monitor the performance of Japan Region. 【Key Responsibilities】 Lead Market Sustainability Strategy, Roadmap & Actions Working closely with Japan leadership team, lead the development of market sustainability action plan, with close alignment to global & regional roadmaps, policies & postures. Orchestrate sustainability actions with key stakeholders in the market, including sustainability committee/taskforce & local project lead. If needed, lead definition of roles & responsibilities within the market relating to sustainability actions Ensure timely communication of market actions, KPI performance & progress through utilization of global & regional performance monitoring & reporting dashboards. Co-develop priorities & roadmap with global and other regional teams by providing Japan perspective and insights. Sustainability Performance & Reporting Orchestrate market readiness & implementation for relevant global (such as EU CSRD) & any local sustainability reporting requirements. Ensure the organization complies with all applicable requirements and identifies opportunities for proactive compliance and leadership in regulatory matters, in collaboration with Legal Team. Ensure accurate & timely data collection & submission for global & regional reporting. Lead market adoption of future global and regional sustainability performance management tool. Co-develop with global and other regional teams to incorporate market perspective in the tool & its implementation. Integrating Sustainability into Market Operations Lead and collaborate with local project leads implementation of sustainability actions plans in respective areas, and integrate into operations, which includes: Collaborate with General Affairs Team to find long-term renewable energy solutions in the market, in line with Chanel’s Energy Policy. Support roll-out of the regional energy management system project across all facilities. Drive energy performance improvement with facilities teams. Lead the implementation of Japan Net Zero roadmap. Identify & prioritize decarbonization opportunities across identified GHG hotspots within the market’s operation & value chain. Lead discussions with various landlords, identify and implement common sustainability initiatives and roadmaps Lead local implementation of waste mapping & management, ensuring sustainable solutions waste management, including evaluation, selection, and due diligence of potential partners. Explore, test & implement circular solutions available locally. Partner with indirect procurement on market roll-out of supplier ESG risk management program, by working closely to engage with suppliers on improvement program. Partner with regional sustainability on implementation of social sustainability within our value chain, including organizing with local stakeholders on local pilots. Build the Sustainability Culture Partner with the Learning & Development team to promote a culture of sustainability within the organization through education & knowledge building, including training programs and workshops. Partner with People Experience team to drive sustainability initiatives and identify areas for external collaboration to raise awareness and build a shared commitment to sustainability among employees. Collaborate with Social Commitment lead in HR to promote and drive interest for activities aligned to House Sustainability Ambition. External Partnerships & Collaboration: Develop strategic collaboration & partnerships with identified partners, industry associations, experts & academia, and oversee effective community engagement with stakeholder groups. Sharing of best practices & insights: Share and create best practices with relevant global/divisional & other regional teams. Monitor and advise any relevant and upcoming sustainability trends (market, regulatory, and others) and contribute to the regional sustainability roadmap. Innovation for Sustainability: Lead identification, pilot, and implementation innovative solutions to operations and processes that further progress the House sustainability ambition. |
